Yemeni Parliament Speaker to Visit Tehran Next Week

TEHRAN - Parliament Speaker of Yemen Sheikh Abdullah bin Hussain al-Ahmar will visit Tehran next week at the head of a delegation, Yemeni Ambassador to Tehran Abdullah Ali al-Razi announced here Wednesday in a meeting with Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi. During the meeting he also handed over to Kharrazi an invitation from his yemeni counterpart Abd al-Qadir Bajammal for a visit to Sanaa. The Yemeni Ambassador told the Iranian Foreign Minister that political will of his country is based on the principle of consolidating ties with Tehran. He described bilateral relations between the two countries as very good and close.
Pointing to the exchange of visit between delegations from both countries as well as mutual agreements for the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, he termed the next week visit of the Yemeni Parliament Speaker to Tehran as a new chapter in bilateral relations. Kharrazi for his turn described Iran-Yemen relations as satisfactory and sincere, adding that given developments in the region, the two countries should further expand relations.
He assessed as positive exchange of visits between high-ranking officials of the two countries, including the forthcoming visit to Tehran of Yemeni Parliament Speaker. (IRNA)
